Research of active short-circuit protection of DC distribution system

Now the AC grid faces many problems such as the accesses of distributed generations, various loads and the users´ higher demand of power reliability. With the development and wide application of the power electronic technology DC distribution system will become a part of future power grid to solve the problems of AC grid. The structure of DC distribution system is presented in this paper. The design idea of active short-circuit protection is proposed and the protection device is designed and developed. Experimental results show that the active short-circuit protection is applicable to DC distribution system.
