Abstract
The Automatic Voltage Control of regional power network achieves coordination and control of the whole power network´s voltage and reactive power in the system, the target of which is to guarantee qualified voltage and power factor on the basis of security and stability, and to reduce active loss due to reactive power flow. According to the localization and dispersion of reactive power balance, AVC controls regional power network´s voltage and reactive power in a hierarchical and sub-regional way. The AVC system of Jinshan District is based on the OPEN3000 platform. In the process of system running, we are faced with many problems, such as the decrease of bus voltage qualification rate, the cold standby state of equipment, the limit-exceeded operation number of capacitor and generator transformer, transformer and capacitor´s failure for twice, decline in the power factor, etc. For each problem, we analyze it on the basis of practical situation, confirm the reason and come up with the solution that improves the bus voltage qualified rate and reduces reactive power loss.
