Abstract :
In the digital substation, digital electricity meter receives Ethernet frames packed with the voltage, current sample values according to IEC 61850 protocols. Meters can calculate the voltage, current, power and energy using the frames. In traditional electricity meter, sample and data processing module is used to calculate the measuring value and electrical energy, and voltage and current circuit connect with meters either directly or through electromagnetic transformers. The voltage and current measuring between the two types of meters is totally different. Therefore, verification method and test project of traditional electricity meter has not been applied to digital electricity meters. As the measuring instruments used for trade settlement must be catalogued in the list of compulsory verification, in this article, through a series of testing, metering property of the digital electricity meter was studied. Suggestions on the testing projects, methods adopted for standard quantitative value tracing and transferring and the grading of the meters were put forward.
