  • Abstract
    Offshore wind mill is the key factor for countries over the world to use ocean resource and exploit ocean economy, is also one of our national important new energy development plans. Offshore wind farm construction started late in our country, offshore wind power technology need to be improved in practice. Due to the difference on offshore distance, installed capacity, marine condition, investment capacity and other conditions, selection of submarine cables is presented in a variety of ways. According to the typical capacity of domestic offshore wind farm, China has successfully developed 220 kV AC submarine cable and ± 200 kV DC submarine cable for export application in offshore wind farm. This paper introduces the typical configuration of three kinds of capacity for offshore wind farm and demonstrates the technical characteristics and design selection of different submarine cable.
