Abstract :
Along with the rapid development of Internet services and rapid growth of Internet users, fast locating of Internet voice user has to be resolved. However, traditional IP voice technologies which locate users based on center server are always confronted with many problems such as distributed denial of service attack, center server failure and server bottlenecks, etc. Recently, Kademlia technology has been widely used in the distributed file sharing applications. However, it only supports slow searching and locating of file resources and machines, and is not suitable for Peer-to-Peer (P2P) voice communication system. Thus, a new improved Kademlia (I-Kademlia) protocol is proposed here to achieve the requirements of high level and flexible security, quickly addressing and locating in P2P voice communication. I-Kademlia protocol is constructed based on double-layer mechanism and uses new type of k-buckets design. Analysis and simulation results show that the proposed I-Kademlia protocol can realize high node locating performance than traditional Kademlia schemes. It can improve the node locating efficiency up to 20%. The Network Address Translation (NAT) traversing for private IP address I-Kademlia nodes are also successfully solved in the proposed scheme.
