Abstract :
The development of telecommunications networks, including Internet, is affected by two contradictory factors. There are the growing volume of traffic on the one hand and the need to reduce capital and operating costs on the other. In this regard, IP-over-DWDM is the effective technological way, which allows, among other things, to reduce the energy consumption. Under the increasing urgency of the energy saving problem criteria of control in telecommunication networks must be changed. In the paper the mathematical model of IP-over-DWDM network, which covers the wavelength´s allocation at DWDM level and control of packet traffic flows at the IP level, is offered. The model takes into account dynamics of incoming traffic and amount of consumed energy is chosen as optimality criterion of control decision.
