Abstract :
The paper presents analysis of multiple description coding (MDC) algorithm with time division of video stream and discussion of its efficiency in videoconferencing. Time division of video stream in two and three substreams are explored. Various video clips are used for experiments. Obtained results demonstrate that MDC with three descriptors can provide acceptable quality for decoded video in case when one of the descriptors (i.e. 33% of transmitted data) is totally lost.
