Abstract :
In this communication, we propose a original small-size multiband antenna with a coupling feed for LTE/WWAN/ HIPERLAN2/ IEEE 802.11a operation in the smart phones. The obtained impedance bandwidth of the proposed antenna (S11<;-6dB) over the operating bands can attain about 520/1545 MHz for the smart phone application, respectively. Ultimately, up to four resonances are achieved to cover the desired 698-960 /1710-2690 MHz and the HIPERLAN2/ IEEE 802.11a band. With an additional parasitic part, it is successfully achieved to cover the HIPERLAN2/IEEE 802.11a band. In general, the simulated results are consistent with the measured results. In the same time, the radiation efficiency, antenna gain and body SAR of the proposed antenna make it good enough for the practical smart phone.
