Abstract :
The design of an ultra-wideband dual-band printed monopole antenna for aeronautical communications systems is presented. The proposed antenna applying 50Ω microstrip feed line can provide two separate impedance bandwidth of 900MHz and 400MHz with VSWR below 2. Comparisons of simulated results and experimental results show that good radiation patterns and gains within the operating bands have been obtained. Effects of extending the bandwidth and improving impedance matching have also been studied.
