Abstract :
A slot antenna which operates in the 902 to 928 MHz ISM band using flexible printed circuit (FPC) technology is proposed. The antenna is designed to be integrated with wireless audio transmission and receiving devices with metal enclosures. The antenna occupies an area of 90 mm × 12 mm. For the projected application, the antenna should be made invisible and the radiation features should not be affected by the device´s metal case. The FPC slot antenna can meet these needs. For the fabricated prototype antenna, the measured matching bandwidth is from 898 to 930 MHz. The measured peak gain is 0.6 dBi and the radiation efficiency is 46% at 915 MHz. The antenna radiation pattern can meet the transmission need.
