Abstract
This paper discusses the microwave power transmission (MPT) system designs to obtain the maximum direct current to direct current (dc-dc) efficiency at a low budget. The truncated taper function level distribution of the transmitting antenna aperture is suggested to get higher microwave capture efficiency. The receiving rectennas could obtain the maximum microwave to direct current (mw-dc) conversion efficiency on the three stable conditions: an operation frequency, an input microwave power and a load. Based on a measured sub-array of 2×2 rectenna elements, the suggested transmitting and receiving apertures design, and the accessible microwave devices, 38% dc-dc efficiency is evaluated for a MPT system at C-band.
