Abstract :
As the power demand and power failure increases, non-conventional energy sources are used to provide constant load. In this paper a new system comprising of single ended primary inductor converter (SEPIC) integrated with PV array is proposed. In the present work a model of PV array is developed and is employed as input to the SEPIC. The modeling of the SEPIC converter is developed and the operating principles under different modes, steady state analysis and design equations of the converter are described in detail. In the SEPIC, the power losses are greatly reduced due to zero-voltage-switching and zero-current-switching. SEPIC is operated at a switching frequency of 100 kHz under continuous conduction mode (CCM) is integrated with PV array. Simulation is carried out in MATLAB/Simulink software and the results are presented.
