Abstract :
A metallic enclosure is used to provide effective radio frequency (RF) shielding for electronic circuits. However presence of apertures and wire penetrations in the enclosure degrades the Shielding effectiveness. The study of external electromagnetic coupling vi a wire penetration to elements inside a shielding enclosure have been performed in this paper. Two cases of coupling to a wire segment and a PCB present within the box have been considered. For external fields a plane wave and electromagnetic pulse (EMP) are used. The Computational Electromagnetic modelling is done using a software package.
