Abstract
The current paper presents a model of an electrothermic system consisting of: electric resistive chamber furnace, an object subjected to the thermal process - a workpiece and a PID regulator. The model is based on numerical methods and it is developed through the software product MATLAB. The purpose of the modeling process is to determine a methodology that can be used to find the required parameters for the adjustment of the PID control that manages the heating processes. The suggested methodology is based on confirmed methods applied to this type of regulation and complemented using the simulations based on numerical methods. The methodology is applicable for both in-design and working equipment. Its validity is confirmed based on a series of experiments using high and medium temperature furnaces.
