Abstract :
Using simulation models in the education and the research activities has become an important and convenient practice. During the last decade Simulink has gained popularity among researchers and educators as an environment for simulation of physical systems of any type, including electric power systems, by means of the SimPowerSystems Toolbox. This contribution presents a simulation model of an auto-reclosing relay, which typically finds application in medium and high voltage grids. The developed model is used in the education of students in the subject of automation of electric power systems.
