Abstract :
Cellular network is the wireless network where the user wants to be connected anytime, anywhere, anyhow throughout the world. It requires strict Quality of Service support. An important research problem is to designing an efficient network selection algorithm. Provisioning of Always Best Connected (ABC) network is the best network selection. Handoff is the process of selecting the best network. Challenging task. Several parameters such as bandwidth, distance, frequency and area size are explained in the handoff process. Users can move between heterogeneous wireless networks. Attributes rating and network ranking are the two operating process that propose the handoff scheme. Handoff is the process that can be made the network with the same type is horizontal handoff and the network that can be made different types of networks is vertical handoff. An efficient network selection is selected for getting the better network. In this paper, the network is always connected in heterogeneous wireless environment. Two methods are used to select the best networks. First one is Weighted rating of multiple attributes (WRMA), this method is used to rate the attributes and the second one is technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) is the method used to rank the networks. Particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is used to calculate the strength of signal and greedy algorithm is used to calculate the distance.
