  • Abstract
This paper studies the influence of the short-circuit fault in the stator winding on the magnetic field outside induction motors through the time domain finite element analysis of the electromagnetic field. The basic idea of such fault detection consists in the comparison for the healthy and faulty states of the motor of the amplitudes of harmonics of the output voltage of coil sensors.
