Abstract :
Diabetic retinopathy(DR)is a diabetic disease, when left untreated can lead to blindness or loss of vision. In order to detect DR at its early stage, the study of micro aneurysm (MA) is necessary. This paper focuses on the comparison of three novel methods used in the early detection of MAs. The three methods include morphological operation, spatial resolution and fractal analysis. The sensitivity and specificity of the three methods on fundus images are reviewed.
