Abstract
In researching and developing wind turbine generator systems, one important thing is to predict the responses of the system for various cases of the wind conditions. Considering the aspect of economics and convenience, a wind turbine simulator that can simulate the dynamic performances of actual wind turbine generator systems is very practical. In this paper, a wind turbine simulator with a DC motor which can simulate various performances under different moments of inertia conditions of the systems is proposed. And the results of experiments as well as simulations based on step responses and natural wind velocities verify the usefulness of the simulator.
