Abstract :
As a lot of wind power generation systems have been installed in power systems in the world, power system frequency fluctuations due to output power variations from wind farms have become a serious problem. In this study, DC-transmission is used to smooth wind farm output power variations. This paper proposes a new method to control frequency variations in a power system with large-scale wind farm installed by transmitting some part of power variations to another large system through DC-transmission line connecting each power system.
