Abstract :
This paper presents a wind farm control scheme based on Model Predictive Control (MPC), which is consist of reactive power control loop and active power control loop. The proposed control scheme aims to minimize the power fluctuation of wind farm by controlling BESS and keeping point of common coupling (PCC) voltage within an acceptable operation region. The control actions are optimized by a multi-step MPC optimizer with forecasting inputs and real-time feedback measurements, which are able to smoothly control the system states moving to the target operation region. Case studies have demonstrated the efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed wind farm power control scheme.
