Abstract :
A significant increase of distributed generation (DG) penetrated in distribution grid has resulted in possibility of operating in multi-source situation. However, traditional over current protection may lose selectivity and quickness due to the influence of DG. In this paper, a sectional pilot protection method has been evaluated, by which method, whole line can be protected without the influences of DG capacity. Meanwhile, improve strategy of sectional pilot protection has been proposed which based on automatic intelligence sectionalizing and online setting value modification. Simulation result has shown that revised pilot protection method can correctly set protection section to clear faults faster and modify setting value to avoid wrong action.
