Abstract :
A method for assessing harmonic level of a power system with the simulation software DIgSILENT/PowerFactory is introduced in this paper. The software provides detailed models of grid elements, which simplifies the harmonic evaluation process. Since the characteristic of the same kind harmonic sources are similar, the measurement data of one harmonic source can be used to represent the others. In this way, the simulation model of a power grid is established and the future harmonic level of the system can be estimated with the current measurement data. Based on this, a simulation model of HuangPing Area in YunNan Province is built according to the grid data of the future year. By calculation of harmonic flow, the harmonic level of this area in the future year is evaluated which gives the basis for monitoring the harmonic pollution.
