Abstract :
Communication system plays a crucial role in the smart grid, which requires distinct qualities and services closely related to application requirements. A process bus network in the smart substation is a very important component of the smart grid communication system. With the aim to evaluate the performance of the process bus network, the network model and information flow model of the process bus network are constructed and an algorism to calculate the information flow of the network is proposed. Finally, in order to illustrate the calculation procedure, a process bus network of a real substation is taken as a case to study. The same process bus network of the case is also established based on the OPNET platform to make a comparison between the simulation results and the results obtained using the proposed method. The comparison results show the validity and accuracy of the proposed model and algorithm.
