Abstract :
Wide-area operation of the whole multi-area power plants aims at economic power supply in the power system. It also increases the exchange power through tie lines among areas. However, the available capacity of tie lines may restrict their optimal power flow under economic wide-area operation of power plants. In this paper, an influence of the tie line reinforcement on the fuel cost considering the securing of the reserve margin is evaluated economically by using numerical simulations.
