Abstract :
In this paper, an optimal strategy for appliance management is proposed participated by both energy suppliers and end users. Through mathematical description of the appliance operation, a suitable work plan timtable for the electric appliances is derived to satisfy both the power limits requested from the power suppliers and the least cost expectation from user side. Furthermore, the utility suppliers will monitor the behaviours of the energy requirement from the customers. When the demanded power is too high, a feedback signal will be sent to ask the customers to stop using some kinds of appliances or delay their operation for a while. When the demand power is too low, a signal will also be sent to the end users to remind that some flexible appliances can be activated in order to achieve the load shifting effect. Simulation experiments have been implemented to prove the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
