Abstract
A novel time division multiplexing of channel (TDMC) scheme for smart antenna is proposed. The scheme effectively reduces the number of radio frequency (RF) channels form N to one. In this scheme, each element is followed by an optical delay line with different time delays. The signals on different elements can pass through the only RF channel sequentially. Compared with other schemes, the TDMC can be used not only for the receiving but also for the transmitting. Design principles and correction method for recovery data with errors are given. Simulation results have validated the proposed scheme.
