Abstract :
Japanese digital terrestrial television broadcasting signal was successfully conveyed by optical single sideband modulation light through 100-km standard single mode fiber, using an EDFA as a repeater. In this experiment, practically used broadcasting radio wave was employed and six channels were modulated at the same time. Simple direct detection was used at the receiver side, while the LiNbO3 based external modulator was used in the transmitter.
