Abstract :
Feedback resistances in Active Inductor circuits can be applied to improve the equivalent inductance and the quality-factor. However, a quality-factor increase can cause instabilities. A new approach for the design of active inductors with feedback resistance is presented. In this approach, through pole-zero canceling, it is ensured that no positive real part poles will appear when the inductor is associated with RC networks. A GC LNA with an Active Inductor load is designed applying the proposed approach. Simulations results show that the gain curve of the LNA keeps constant peak values with different load capacitances and inductor bias current, confirming the stability of the inductor circuit.
