  • Abstract
Many physical mechanisms are known in dielectrics that lead to the energy loss, but in each frequency range one dominating mechanism of loss exists. Contemporary information technologies start to use gigahertz frequency domain where dielectrics with high permittivity ε are the most needed. That is why this report is devoted to the nature of losses in the microwave dielectrics. Experimental and theoretical investigations show that dominating loss mechanism for high ε dielectrics arises from polar phase existence. Consequently, with the object of microwave dielectrics elaboration or application one need to avoid or to suppress any polar (non-centre symmetric) components in the dielectric composition.
