Abstract :
Corpora have become bigger, better and more numerous, and their interfaces are quicker, simpler and freely available for use on any computer. At the same time, user manuals and teaching materials have been created to support the technology. The technological and pedagogical aspects of corpus-based language learning are equally important, but the previous research has been weighted towards the creation of corpora and the development of corpus tools, while until very recently little attention has gone on materials design and integrating corpora within teaching programs. Data Driven Learning (DDL) has the potential to promote English language learning and teaching at all levels. This paper shows how to make the most of DDL in college English classroom teaching in five aspects, namely, listening, speaking, reading, writing and translating.
