Abstract :
Experimental comparison of standard and recently-developed robust direct field-oriented controllers for induction motors is presented. Robust control algorithm is based on sliding mode observer which is invariant to rotor resistance variations. Intensive experimental study shows that robust controller provides higher speed tracking performance as compared with standard solution and improved robustness with respect to rotor resistance variations, leading to robust stabilization of dynamic performance and energy efficiency.
