  • Abstract
    We present the design of a broadband, compact, and low loss two level inverse taper edge coupler for silicon photonics. The polarization maintaining taper has less than 1 dB coupling loss from fiber to silicon waveguide and efficiently couples to both TE and TM polarizations.
