Abstract :
We derive a genie-based outer bound for the sum rate of discrete memoryless interference channels. We define a class of very weak interference channels and study a sub-class called the binary skewed-Z interference channel. We use the genie-based outer bound to deduce the sum-capacity in a nontrivial regime of parameters for this sub-class.
