Abstract :
As demand for microwave bandwidth increases, meteorological radars must balance the benefits of utilizing a large spectrum with the significant cost of reserving such a large bandwidth. With increased crowding of the frequency spectrum, interference from other transmitters will become more prevalent, affecting the integrity of meteorological data. This problem has already arisen at the National Weather Radar Testbed Phased Array Radar. This paper introduces a new algorithm known as ISDA. The ISDA is intended to mitigate the effects of this interference, and early results from application of this algorithm to theoretical and real radar data afflicted with this interference are presented.
