Abstract :
The construction and testing of a MIMO radar for target imaging are presented. Two distinct radar systems are combined in order to form a four-channel platform with operation validated through a series of stationary target measurements. These are conducted using both time-diverse and waveform-diverse channel separation methods, and imaging results from each are compared to evaluate the performance of two varieties of pseudo-noise waveforms and the LFM chirp. Results from the first experiment successfully demonstrate the operation of the radar system but leave open a number of scientific questions for further investigation in a revised experiment. Conclusions from this second measurement are to be presented in this year´s radar conference.
