Abstract :
Nowadays, there is a significant interest towards evolved cellular systems to support the steady increase in capacity needs. This paper deals with 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE), comparing two reuse schemes that belong to the family of Fractional Frequency Reuse (FFR), where the cell is divided into two parts (i.e., a central part and an edge one) adopting different reuse patterns and different transmission powers. Our aim is to identify the FFR scheme achieving higher capacity under some fairness constraints. Therefore, we perform an exhaustive-search optimization of the selected FFR scheme to maximize cell capacity in different conditions by means of Ns-3 simulations.
