  • Abstract
    There emerges an increasing need to overcome the obstacles of connecting heterogeneous home appliances. Based on previously proposed home service bus and driver processing language, we design and implement a service-based proxy framework for smart space environments. Two types of proxies (i.e. Domain proxy and group proxy) are deployed as system components to convert device functionalities to standard services, and publish services on remote platform, by interacting with node devices and the cloud. Proxy framework bridges the gap between service invocation and operations to resource-constrained devices. We present some use cases that show the overall utilization of the architecture and discuss the practical application scenarios.
