Abstract :
In recent years, 3D modeling technology has proven its own importance with a lot of well-known 3D modeling software that can create 3D objects in high details to serve the demands in gaming industry, medical science, education, etc. However, with the current hardware devices such as computer mouses and keyboards, the process of modeling 3D objects is still limited and inconvenient due to the weak interactions between users and 3D objects. Nowadays, with various different and high requirements in 3D modeling domain, users seek the better methods of creating 3D objects, which can bring more realistic experiences. Currently some body motion-sensing devices such as Kinect and Wii remote can help users interact with software but they are not 3D modeling-oriented. Hence, we here introduce Leap Studio, a solution to virtual interactive communication between users and 3D modeling applications with high accuracy of sensing the movements of hands and fingers, which can bring convenience and comfort to user in creating 3D objects.
