Abstract :
A set of techniques to design the virtual topology for flexible optical networks is presented. They are based on previous algorithms proposed for fixed-grid optical networks, which are adapted and optimized to the characteristics of flexible networks. A simulation study is presented to evaluate their performance. The technique that obtains the best result is based on genetic algorithms and enhanced with a cognitive technique.
