  • Abstract
    Optical code can be used as a new dimension for digital signal modulation in optical communication systems. The optical code based modulation is orthogonal to the conventional modulation mechanisms and can be applied to improve system capacity and security simultaneously. Several experimental demonstrations of the optical code based modulation/transmission schemes are described in this paper.
