Abstract :
Different femtosecond pulse ablation characteristics are observed in aluminum and super alloy (Inconel 625). Ablation thresholds and rates are measured and compared to standard theory. Incubation is critically analyzed with different models. Elemental analysis of the ablated region suggests that the alloy constituents are selectively ablated.
