  • Abstract
Phase sensitive parametric amplification (PSA) is a well-known mechanism, with significant advantages over conventional, phase insensitive amplification (PIA), such as a lower noise figure. We introduce a PSA which is based on narrow band parametric gain and therefore is tuneable over hundreds of nanometres. Furthermore we use one of PSA properties - periodic gain as the basis for multi-wavelength oscillator (MWO). We constructed a pulse pumped MWO, based on narrow band PSA with tunability of hundreds of nanometres and several simultaneous oscillating wavelengths on both short and long wavelengths side of the pump. We also introduce a continuous wavelength MWO, based on regular, broad band, PSA. We obtain more than ten oscillations on each side of the pump. The spectral spacing between the oscillations is governed by system physical properties and pump wavelength.
