Abstract :
This paper presents a performance analysis of passive - active optical wireless transmission for personal health monitoring system. In this scheme, passive and active optical wireless transmission is proposed. In passive transmission, thin film corner cube retroreflector (TCCR) is employed to modulate and reflect the obtained measurements from sensors to an image sensor while charging the battery. The active transmission is applied when the passive transmission cannot be achieved. The absorbed power at TCCR is calculated, and signal to noise ratio (SNR) at the image sensor is analyzed with consideration of the transmitted power and the user´s location.
