  • Abstract
A wireless sensor network (WSN) consists of sensor nodes which can self-organize to form a wireless network with the purpose of relaying information such as measurements to a base station. Sensor nodes are normally with limited power supply, processing and transmission capability. Some existing WSN designs require complex routing protocols, and others are unable to perform adequate load balancing or achieve overall energy efficiency. This paper proposes a basketball net topology which forms a levelized WSN with reduced routing complexity and statistical packet-forwarding capability to address the disadvantages of existing designs. Additionally, it is also shown to be resilient.
