Abstract
This paper shows the system performance of time-division relaying against a blank subframe ratio (BSR) in an access link and transmission power for a relay node (RN). The average user throughput and the cell edge user throughput are described by system level computer simulation. Time-division relaying improves the average user throughput by 30% as compared to a conventional system when the transmission power for the RN is 36 dBm and the BSR is 4/10. Moreover, a high BSR degrades user throughput performance. These results provide a remarkably effective solution for the design of time-division relaying.
