Abstract :
This paper describes the implementation of a software branch exchange laboratory at Tomas Bata University in Zlin. The exchange is based on GNU/Linux and Asterisk software and is used in the Telecommunication Systems course tuition process. It serves for the interconnection of additional exchanges and has a connection to the PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network). Students create their own exchanges on their PC (using OS GNU/Linux and Asterisk virtualization). The Laboratory Exchange has a higher hierarchy status in the connection scheme.
