Abstract
All over the world, there are many natural reserves with wildlife, flora, fauna or features of special interest which are spread and there is practically impossible a continuous surveillance of these areas by man. In the wildlife protection applications, standalone systems must be utilized. These systems will only send emergency messages to some remote observation station and may include all the classification and detection steps. In this paper a sparsogram implementation is presented and this may be suitable for application as wildlife intruder detection. To prevent the possibility of increasing false alarms and affecting the active inputs matrix, a coding procedure is proposed. Experimental results are also shown.
