Abstract :
Numerical simulation of the external radiation structures of a novel dipole transducer is presented in this paper. From the numerical modeling results, we can conclude that by considering the constant damping ratio and adjusting the sizes of different components of the structures, the unnecessary resonant frequencies can be moved outside the frequency range with only one resonant peak left. The external radiation structures have an effect on the improvement of the radiation performance, especially in the low frequency range. These analyses establish a foundation for the optimization of such transducers for acoustic logging.
