Abstract :
In the context of “Mechanics of Incremental Deformations”, the circumferential SH waves in multilayered cylindrical plates under initial stresses in the radial and axial directions are investigated. The wave equations are solved using the Legendre polynomial series method. The influences of the initial stresses on the circumferential SH wave are investigated. Numerical results show that initial stresses have significant effects on circumferential SH waves, and the influences of the initial stress in the axial direction are very different from those in the radial direction.
